Hasan Ali: “Babar has proven with his performance and attitude that he is the best batter of this era”

Pakistan fast bowler Hasan Ali has lavished praise on batsman Babar Azam, calling him “the best batter of this era”.
For many years, Azam has been Pakistan’s most consistent run-scorer across all three formats.
However, his form has dipped drastically as of late, which has been a major concern for the men in green as he is supposed to be the backbone of the batting line-up.
Nonetheless, Hasan is confident the 30-year-old will get back to his best really soon as he works hard and is constantly looking to get better.
“Babar has proven with his performance and attitude that he is the best batter of this era,” he told Cricket Pakistan.
Azam recently captained the Peshawar Zalmi in the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL) and scored 288 runs in 10 games, which included three fifties, at an average of 36 and a strike-rate of 128.57.
Despite batting well in PSL 10, Azam was not selected for Pakistan’s T20I series against Bangladesh in Lahore, the T20I tour of Bangladesh, and the three-match T20I series against the West Indies.
He did, however, feature in Pakistan’s three-match ODI series against the West Indies in Trinidad and mustered 56 runs at an average of 18.66.
Pakistan are now taking part in a T20I tri-series against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Afghanistan in Sharjah.
In the match against the UAE, Hasan took three wickets.
Following the T20I tri-series, Pakistan will participate in the 2025 Asia Cup, which will be held in the UAE from September 9 to 28.
Azam was not included in the team Pakistan announced for the T20I tri-series and Asia Cup.
