Pakistan Test captain Shan Masood has taken aim at the national team’s critics, calling them small-minded people.
His comments come after the men in green haven’t produced the results expected of them as of late.
Recently, Pakistan took on Bangladesh in a three-match T20I series in Lahore, which they won 3-0.
However, when they travelled to Bangladesh to play another three-match T20I series, they ended up losing 2-1.
Pakistan then toured the West Indies and began their campaign with a 2-1 victory in the T20I series.
As for the ODIs that followed, the men in green were beaten 2-1.
With a lot of criticism being targeted at specific players in the Pakistan team, Masood took his frustrations out on those who think it is easy for cricketers to perform consistently at the international level.
“Anyone who mocks Pakistan players for not performing is, in my opinion, a small-minded person,” the 35-year-old was quoted as saying by Khel Shel on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Pakistan’s next assignment will be a T20I tri-series against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Afghanistan in Sharjah, which will take place from August 29 to September 7.
Afterwards, they will participate in the 2025 Asia Cup, which will be held in the UAE from September 9 to 28.
