Former Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ramiz Raja said he likes fast bowler Salman Mirza as he “has a quick arm action and has shown solid temperament”.
Mirza recently featured in the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL) and took nine wickets in four games for the Lahore Qalandars at an impressive average of 15 and an economy rate of 9.64.
The 31-year-old subsequently went on to make his international debut during Pakistan’s tour of Bangladesh, where he claimed seven wickets in three T20Is at an average of 8.57 and an economy rate of 5.21.
After this, Mirza did not feature in Pakistan’s limited overs tour of the West Indies, where the men in green won the T20I series 2-1 but lost the ODIs 2-1.
Even though he missed the West Indies tour, Mirza was included in Pakistan’s squad for the T20I tri-series against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Afghanistan, and the 2025 Asia Cup.
“Salman Mirza has been included, and I like him because he has a quick arm action and has shown solid temperament. He’s a good choice,” Ramiz said on his YouTube channel as quoted by Geo Super.
The T20I tri-series will be played in Sharjah from August 29 to September 7.
As for the Asia Cup, it is scheduled to take place in the UAE from September 9 to 28.
