Up-and-coming batsman Khawaja Nafay has revealed that he faced “around 800 balls a day” during the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) skill development camp.

Nafay noted that not only did this training routine improve his game, but is also strengthened his muscles.

“We face around 800 balls a day, playing them quickly; it also strengthens our muscles. This practice will benefit us in the future,” he was quoted as saying by A Sports.

Nafay recently took part in the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL), where he represented the Quetta Gladiators and amassed 52 runs in two matches, which included a top score of 51, at an average of 26 and a strike-rate of 173.33.

His performance wasn’t enough to get him into Pakistan’s squad for the T20I tri-series against Bangladesh in Lahore, the T20I tour of Bangladesh, and the limited overs tour of the West Indies.

The 23-year-old also failed to make the cut for the upcoming T20I tri-series against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Afghanistan in Sharjah, which will be held from August 29 to September 7.

After this, Pakistan will feature in the 2025 Asia Cup, which will take place in the UAE from September 9 to 28.
