Pakistan batsman Saud Shakeel has praised big-hitting prospect Hasan Nawaz, saying no matter how much credit he gets, it won’t be enough.

Nawaz has enjoyed a meteoric rise to the top as he has been a dominant force in domestic cricket.

During the 2025 Pakistan Super League, the 22-year-old was virtually unstoppable as he was the third-highest run-scorer with 399 runs in 12 matches for the Quetta Gladiators, which included a hundred and three half-centuries, at an average of 57 and a strike-rate of 162.19.

He continued to remain in red-hot form during Pakistan’s three-match T20I series against Bangladesh as he scored 121 runs at an average of 60.50 and a strike-rate of 198.36.

The Islamabad native then toured Bangladesh with the men in green, but failed to have the same kind of impact as he only managed to muster 33 runs in three T20Is at an average of 11 and a strike-rate of 122.22.

Given what Nawaz has accomplished so far, Shakeel thinks no amount of praise will do him justice.

“No matter how much credit Hasan gets, it will be less,” he was quoted as saying by Geo Super.

After their tour of Bangladesh, Pakistan travelled to the West Indies for three T20Is and three ODIs.

In the T20I series, he amassed 79 runs at an average of 26.33 and a strike-rate of 164.58.

Nawaz then proceeded to make his ODI debut and struck 112 runs in three matches, which included a career-best 63 not out, at an average of 112.

Pakistan will now play a T20I tri-series against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Afghanistan in Sharjah from August 29 to September 7.

Following this, they will be involved in the 2025 Asia Cup, which will take place in the UAE from September 9 to 28.

Pakistan squad for UAE T20I tri-series and 2025 Asia Cup: Salman Ali Agha (captain), Abrar Ahmed, Faheem Ashraf, Fakhar Zaman, Haris Rauf, Hasan Ali, Hasan Nawaz, Hussain Talat, Khushdil Shah, Mohammad Haris (wicketkeeper), Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Wasim Jnr, Sahibzada Farhan, Saim Ayub, Salman Mirza, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Sufiyan Muqeem
