Former Australia opening batsman Aaron Finch has lauded Pakistan T20I vice-captain Shadab Khan, calling him “an aggressive leg-spinner”.
His praise comes after Shadab was picked by the Sydney Thunder for the upcoming season of the Big Bash League (BBL).
Given how successful the 26-year-old has been thus far in his career, Finch has high expectations for him going into BBL 15.
“Shadab Khan is an aggressive leg-spinner, he will love playing out there,” he was quoted as saying by Khel Shel on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Shadab, who many feel could captain Pakistan in the future, recently led Islamabad United in the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL) and took 14 wickets in 10 matches at an average of 16.57 and an economy rate of 7.90.
He also contributed with the bat, accumulating 173 runs at an average of 24.71 and a strike-rate of 155.85.
Following PSL 10, the Mianwali-born cricketer featured in Pakistan’s three-match T20I series against Bangladesh in Lahore and claimed four wickets at an average of 16.25 and an economy rate of 7.22.
Batting-wise, he ended up with 55 runs at an average of 27.50 and a strike-rate of 157.14.
Pakistan then toured Bangladesh for three T20Is before embarking on a white-ball tour of the West Indies. However, Shadab missed both assignments as he underwent surgery on his right shoulder.
