Pakistan power-hitter Hasan Nawaz has named veteran all-rounder Shoaib Malik as his role model.

Explaining why, the 22-year-old noted that he has great respect for Malik and really admires how the 43-year-old has managed to keep his fitness at a really high level for all these years.

“My role model is Shoaib Malik. I admire his fitness a lot,” he was quoted as saying by journalist Farid Khan on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Hasan recently featured in the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL), where he was the third-highest run-scorer with 399 runs in 12 matches for the Quetta Gladiators, which included a century and three fifties, at an average of 57 and a strike-rate of 162.19.

After PSL 10 ended, he took part in Pakistan’s three-match T20I series against Bangladesh and amassed 121 runs at an average of 60.50 and a strike-rate of 198.36.

He then proceeded to tour Bangladesh with the men in green and mustered 33 runs in three T20Is at an average of 11 and a strike-rate of 122.22.

Following this, Pakistan toured the West Indies for three T20Is and three ODIs.

In the T20I series, Nawaz continued to impress as he accumulated 79 runs at an average of 26.33 and a strike-rate of 164.58.

The Islamabad native subsequently proceeded to make his ODI debut and finished with 112 runs in three matches, which included a career-best knock of 63 not out, at an average of 112.
