Pakistan Director of High-Performance Aaqib Javed has made it clear that there is no rift between himself and ODI captain Mohammad Rizwan.

His comments come after there was speculation of bad blood when he was head coach of the national team on an interim basis.

However, Javed insisted that he “can’t recall any instance where we weren’t on the same page”.

“I never had any disagreements with Rizwan, because you make decisions together with your skipper. I can’t recall any instance where we weren’t on the same page,” he was quoted as saying by A Sports.

Rizwan recently captained the Multan Sultans in the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL) and accumulated 367 runs in 10 matches, which included a century and a fifty, at an average of 52.42 and a strike-rate of 139.54.

Despite doing brilliantly, he was not picked for Pakistan’s three-match T20I series against Bangladesh in Lahore.

The selectors overlooked him once again for the tour of Bangladesh, which comprised three T20Is.

Rizwan did travel to the West Indies with Pakistan, but was not involved in the T20I series.

However, he did captain Pakistan in the three-match ODI series that followed and amassed 69 runs, which included a top score of 53, at an average of 23.
