New Zealand batsman Kane Williamson has called Pakistan big-hitter Fakhar Zaman “the New Zealand destroyer”.

He noted that every time the Black Caps face the men in green, Zaman “smacks us everywhere” and scores big runs.

Williamson even joked that New Zealand are “almost sick of the sight of him”.

“Then there’s Fakhar Zaman – the New Zealand destroyer – he just comes out and smacks us everywhere every time we play him. We’re almost sick of the sight of him,” he was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.

During the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL), Zaman finished as the second-highest run-scorer with 439 runs in 13 matches for the Lahore Qalandars, which included four fifties, at an average of 33.76 and a strike-rate of 152.96.

He then represented Pakistan in their three-match T20I series against Bangladesh in Lahore, but only made one run in the one match he played.

As for the tour of Bangladesh, which consisted of three T20Is, he amassed 52 runs in two games at an average of 26 and a strike-rate of 123.80.

Afterwards, Pakistan embarked on a tour of the West Indies and in the three-match T20I series, the 35-year-old from Mardan struck 48 runs in two games at an average of 24 and a strike-rate of 111.62.

The two teams then played a three-match ODI series, but Zaman did not feature in any of the games as the men in green lost 2-1.
