Left-arm spinner Imad Wasim firmly believes that T20I captain Salman Ali Agha is one of the most underrated cricketers in both Pakistan and the world.
Imad has been a fan of Salman’s for a long time and pointed out how much impact the 31-year-old has had ever since he started playing international cricket.
Both players recently played alongside each other for Islamabad United in the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL), where Salman amassed 201 runs in nine matches at an average of 25.12 and a strike-rate of 136.73.
He also took two wickets at an average of 33.50 and an economy rate of 8.37.
Following PSL 10, the Lahore native captained Pakistan in their three-match T20I series against Bangladesh and accumulated 90 runs, which included a career-best knock of 56, at an average of 45 and a strike-rate of 155.17.
On top of that, he picked up one wicket at an average of 43 and an economy rate of 10.75.
Pakistan then toured Bangladesh for three T20Is, but Salman didn’t do quite as well, making 24 runs at an average of 12 and a strike-rate of 58.53.
Bowling-wise, he finished with one wicket at an average of 12 and an economy rate of six as Pakistan went on to lose the series 2-1.
Despite this, Imad still thinks very highly of Salman and feels he deserves a lot more credit than he gets.
“I’ve mentioned in a lot of TV channels and stuff that he is one of the most underrated cricketers in Pakistan and in the world,” he told PakPassion.
Pakistan were just in the West Indies for three T20Is and three ODIs, which they won 2-1 and lost 2-1 respectively.
In the T20I series, Salman scored 49 runs at an average of 49 and a strike-rate of 113.95.
He failed to contribute with the ball as he went wicketless.
As for the ODI series, he ended up with 62 runs at an average of 20.66 and one wicket at an average of 77.
