Saud Shakeel: “Hasan Nawaz is an exceptional talent”

Pakistan Test vice-captain Saud Shakeel believes big-hitting batsman Hasan Nawaz is “an exceptional talent”.
Nawaz has become a household name in Pakistan, largely due to his exceptional big-hitting abilities.
The 22-year-old was a force to be reckoned with during the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL) as he was the third-highest run-scorer with 399 runs in 12 matches for the Quetta Gladiators, which included a century and three fifties, at an average of 57 and a strike-rate of 162.19.
Following the conclusion of PSL 10, Hasan was included in Pakistan’s team for their three-match T20I series against Bangladesh in Lahore and amassed 121 runs at an average of 60.50 and a strike-rate of 198.36.
He then proceeded to make 33 runs in three T20Is at an average of 11 and a strike-rate of 122.22 during Pakistan’s tour of Bangladesh.
Shakeel, who captained the Gladiators in PSL 10, has applauded Nawaz for his performances and thinks the Islamabad native has a really bright future ahead of him.
“Hasan Nawaz is an exceptional talent,” he was quoted as saying by Geo Super.
Pakistan just finished touring the West Indies for three T20Is and three ODIs.
In the T20I series, Nawaz accumulated 79 runs at an average of 26.33 and a strike-rate of 164.58.
He also made his debut in the ODI series and finished with 112 runs in three matches, which included a top score of 63 not out, at an average of 112.
