Pakistan left-arm pace bowler Mir Hamza has made it clear that he is no longer scared about not being picked in the national team.
Hamza admitted that this used to worry him in the past, but he has since changed his mindset and outlook.
The 32-year-old, who has featured in seven Tests to date, knows that selection is out of his hands and therefore focuses on “staying fit and being ready whenever the opportunity comes”.
“Earlier, I used to worry about not being selected for the national team. But not anymore. Now the focus is on staying fit and being ready whenever the opportunity comes,” he was quoted as saying by ARY News.
Hamza was recently involved in the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL) and took 10 wickets in nine matches for the Karachi Kings at an average of 23.40 and an economy rate of 7.35.
After PSL 10, Pakistan faced Bangladesh in a three-match T20I series and whitewashed them 3-0.
The men in green then toured Bangladesh, but were beaten 2-1 in the T20I series.
Pakistan are now touring the West Indies for three T20Is and three ODIs.
The T20I series is tied at 1-1 going into the 3rd T20I on August 4 in Lauderhill.
