Former Pakistan batsman Basit Ali has questioned how fast bowler Naseem Shah is in the national team when he hasn’t put up any strong performances.
Naseem has been one of Pakistan’s first-choice seamers across all three formats, but his form has dipped slightly as of late.
During the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL), he took nine wickets in 10 matches for Islamabad United at an average of 40.33 and an economy rate of 9.30.
“Naseem Shah is back in the squad without any performance,” Basit said on ARY News show Har Lamha Purjosh.
After PSL 10 ended, Naseem missed out on Pakistan’s three-match T20I series against Bangladesh, which the men in green won 3-0.
He also wasn’t involved in the tour of Bangladesh, where Pakistan lost the T20I series 2-1.
Pakistan are now touring the West Indies for three T20Is and three ODIs, but Naseem was only included in the ODI team.
The T20I series is tied at 1-1 going into the 3rd T20I on August 4 in Lauderhill.
