Pakistan speedster Abbas Afridi has announced his plans to become an “all-format bowler” in the future.
Currently, Afridi is only being picked in the T20I team, where he has established himself as a reliable wicket-taker.
However, the 24-year-old now wants to take the next step in his career, which is to play Tests and ODIs as well.
“I want to become an all-format bowler for Pakistan,” he told PakPassion.
Afridi recently represented the Karachi Kings in the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL) and finished as the joint second-highest wicket-taker with 17 wickets in 11 matches at an average of 23.52 and an economy rate of 10.25.
He then proceeded to play in Pakistan’s three-match T20I series against Bangladesh and took two wickets in one game at an average of 13 and an economy rate of 6.50.
As for Pakistan’s tour of Bangladesh, Afridi snapped up three wickets in three T20Is at an average of 17.66 and an economy rate of 8.83.
Pakistan are now touring the West Indies for three T20Is and three ODIs.
The men in green are 1-0 up in the T20I series as they won the first match by 14 runs.
The 2nd T20I will take place on August 3 in Lauderhill.
