Javed Miandad: “This is unfortunate that no one is around to guide Babar Azam in his bad patch”

Legendary Pakistan cricketer Javed Miandad has admitted it is unfortunate that there is no one around to guide batsman Babar Azam as he continues to battle through his rough patch.
Azam has found it difficult to score runs consistently for numerous months, which has been a major issue for the men in green as he is one of their go-to batsmen.
The 30-year-old showed signs of improvement during the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL), where he captained the Peshawar Zalmi and accumulated 288 runs in 10 games, which included three fifties, at an average of 36 and a strike-rate of 128.57.
Despite this, Miandad feels Azam would benefit from having someone around who can offer guidance and words of advice.
“This is unfortunate that no one is around to guide Babar Azam in his bad patch,” he was quoted as saying by journalist Arfa Feroz Zake on X, formerly known as Twitter.
After PSL 10 concluded, Pakistan took on Bangladesh in a three-match T20I series in Lahore, but Azam was not included in the team.
He also missed the tour of Bangladesh, where the men in green lost the T20I series 2-1.
Pakistan will now tour the West Indies for three T20Is and three ODIs from August 1 to 12.
Azam didn’t get into the T20I squad once again, but was picked in the ODI team.
