Former Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq has described 150 kph seamer Ihsanullah as a “talented fast bowler”.
Ihsanullah was picked by the Peshawar Zalmi for the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL), but didn’t play a single game.
The 22-year-old became an overnight sensation during the 2023 PSL as he was the second-highest wicket-taker with 22 wickets in 12 matches for the Multan Sultans at an average of 15.77.
Soon after, he made his international debut and went on to feature in one ODI and four T20Is.
Unfortunately, an elbow injury sidelined him for a long time and questions were raised about whether Ihsanullah would be able to bowl at speeds above 150 kph again.
The Matta native ultimately made a full recovery and took part in the National T20 Cup, where he claimed four wickets in three matches for Peshawar Region at an average of 25.75 and an economy rate of 8.58.
Having seen Ihsanullah bowling, Inzamam, who was the Zalmi’s team director during PSL 10, is confident he can still have a successful career.
“He is a talented fast bowler,” Inzamam was quoted as saying by journalist Arfa Feroz Zake on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Following the conclusion of PSL 10, Pakistan faced Bangladesh in a three-match T20I series in Lahore and won 3-0.
They then toured Bangladesh for another three-match T20I series, but were beaten 2-1.
Pakistan’s next assignment will be a limited overs tour of the West Indies, where they will play three T20Is and three ODIs from August 1 to 12.
