Nottinghamshire head coach Peter Moores has lauded Pakistan seamer Mohammad Abbas, calling him a “top-class new-ball bowler”.
He noted that Abbas is such a dangerous bowler as he “creates pressure and gives you control in the game”.
The 35-year-old is renowned for his impeccable line and length, which often brings him wickets.
“Mohammad Abbas is a top-class new-ball bowler who creates pressure and gives you control in the game,” Moores told Geo News.
Abbas didn’t play in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) as he has been representing Nottinghamshire in the County Championship, where he has once again been lethal with the ball.
In the six matches he has played, the Sialkot native has claimed 22 wickets, which includes two five-wicket hauls, at an average of 22.81.
Since Abbas has been busy playing county cricket, he didn’t feature in Pakistan’s three-match T20I series against Bangladesh, which they won 3-0.
The men in green then toured Bangladesh for another three-match T20I series, but ended up being defeated 2-1.
Next up for Pakistan will be a limited overs tour of the West Indies, which will consist of three T20Is and three ODIs that will be held from August 1 to 12.
