Pakistan fast bowling legend Shoaib Akhtar has revealed that left-arm speedster Mohammad Amir “always bowls three to four overs before every match”.
He noted that Amir does this in order to analyse “his bowling during warm-up sessions” and “sharpen his skills”.
Amir has been extremely successful, even after retiring from international cricket as he has been taking plenty of wickets in different T20 leagues around the world.
Recently, the 33-year-old from Gujar Khan represented the Quetta Gladiators in the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL) and claimed 13 wickets in nine matches at an average of 18.07 and an economy rate of 7.79.
“Amir always bowls three to four overs before every match, analysing his bowling during warm-up sessions. He does not follow the general team warm-up, instead, he has his own routine designed to sharpen his skills,” Akhtar was quoted as saying by A Sports.
Following the conclusion of PSL 10, Pakistan went up against Bangladesh in a three-match T20I series, which they won 3-0.
They then toured Bangladesh for three T20Is and ended up being beaten 2-1.
Pakistan’s next assignment will be a tour of the West Indies, where they will play three T20Is and three ODIs from August 1 to 12.
