Pakistan batsman Mohammad Haris said he only knows how to attack as that is the only way to score runs in T20 cricket.

He noted that playing defensively doesn’t keep the scoreboard ticking, which is why he has a very aggressive mindset whenever he comes out to bat.

Recently, Haris took part in the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL) and amassed 247 runs in 10 matches for the Peshawar Zalmi, which included a top score of 87, at an average of 27.44 and a strike-rate of 148.79.

“Attack is the best form of defense. I only know [how] to play one way. If you play defensive cricket, you cannot score runs in T20 cricket,” the 24-year-old was quoted as saying by journalist Farid Khan on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Following PSL 10, Haris got the chance to represent Pakistan in their three-match T20I series against Bangladesh and stole the spotlight as he hammered 179 runs, which included a career-best 107 not out, at an average of 89.50 and a strike-rate of 201.12.

The men in green ended up winning the series 3-0.

Pakistan’s next assignment will be a tour of Bangladesh, where they will play three T20Is in Mirpur from July 20 to 24.
