Iconic Pakistan batsman Mohammad Yousuf has questioned whether veteran all-rounder Shoaib Malik should be playing in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), noting that “if you ask me to play, even I’ll play”.

Yousuf noted that the tournament is for current players who are part of the national team or trying to make a name for themselves and represent their country in the future.

Since Malik doesn’t fit either category, the 50-year-old feels he may be taking a spot from another player who could be the next big thing.

“The board needs to draw a line regarding Shoaib Malik playing the PSL. If you ask me to play, even I’ll play,” Yousuf was quoted as saying by A Sports.

Malik played for the Quetta Gladiators in PSL 10 and scored 14 runs in two games at an average of 14 and a strike-rate of 93.33.

After the PSL concluded, Pakistan took on Bangladesh in a three-match T20I series, which they won 3-0.
