Pakistan batsman Ahmed Shehzad has criticised the way power-hitter Haider Ali was used by Islamabad United in the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Haider batted in the middle or lower order throughout the tournament and had no fixed position, which really angered Shehzad.

He questioned how the 24-year-old can play properly if he is not given a “proper slot” and enough time to build an innings.

In fact, Shehzad even went as far as saying that Islamabad United wasted Haider in PSL 10.

Haider ended the competition with 77 runs in eight matches at an average of 15.40 and a strike-rate of 142.59.

“If you’ve picked Haider Ali, play him in the proper slot. He’s being wasted,” Shehzad was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.

After the PSL, Pakistan faced Bangladesh in a three-match T20I series, but Haider was not included in the team.

The men in green won the series 3-0.
