New Zealand opener Colin Munro has been amazed by Pakistan batsman Sahibzada Farhan’s form over the last few months.
Farhan has been a force to be reckoned with in domestic cricket as he was the highest run-scorer in the National T20 Cup with 605 runs in seven matches for Peshawar Region, which included three centuries and two fifties, at a sensational average of 121 and a strike-rate of 189.65.
Following this, the 29-year-old from Charsadda represented Islamabad United in the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL) and finished as the top run-scorer with 449 runs in 12 games, which included a hundred and three half-centuries, at an average of 37.41 and a strike-rate of 152.20.
Munro, who also played for Islamabad United in PSL 10, noted that Farhan “was batting for a long period of time” during training and is determined to keep getting better.
“He’s been exceptional, even in the [National] T20 Cup beforehand, I think he scored three or four hundreds… He’s worked incredibly hard. I even noticed in the camp that he was batting for a long period of time and he just wants to get better,” he said in a video posted by Khel Shel on X, formerly known as Twitter.
After the PSL, Farhan played in Pakistan’s three-match T20I series against Bangladesh and amassed 75 runs in two games, which included a career-best knock of 74, at an average of 37.50 and a strike-rate of 166.66.
The men in green won the series 3-0.
