Wiaan Mulder said Babar Azam has the best cover drive

South Africa all-rounder Wiaan Mulder selected Pakistan batsman Babar Azam as the player with the best cover drive.
Azam has received the same compliment from many other players in the past, but has faced tough competition too as some cricketers feel India superstar Virat Kohli has the greatest cover drive.
Nonetheless, Mulder voted for the 30-year-old from Lahore when asked the question as part of a promotional video for the Sunrisers Hyderabad, who he played for in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
“Babar Azam,” he was quoted as saying by Geo Super.
Azam recently represented Pakistan in a three-match ODI series against New Zealand and amassed 129 runs, which included two fifties, at an average of 43.
Afterwards, he captained the Peshawar Zalmi in the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL) and finished with 288 runs in 10 matches, which included three half-centuries, at an average of 36 and a strike-rate of 128.57.
Once PSL 10 ended, Pakistan took on Bangladesh in a three-match T20I series, but Azam was not included in the team.
The men in green won the series 3-0.
