Pakistan batsman Sohaib Maqsood said it was difficult to get Babar Azam out during practice sessions six to eight months ago, but it is a totally different story now.
He pointed out that Azam gets dismissed “two or three times” during training sessions nowadays.
Azam has been in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons lately as questions have been raised about when his rough patch will come to an end.
During the recent three-match ODI series against New Zealand, the 30-year-old showed signs of improvement as he made 129 runs, which included two fifties, at an average of 43.
He carried that momentum into the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL), where he captained the Peshawar Zalmi and scored 288 runs in 10 matches, which included three half-centuries, at an average of 36 and a strike-rate of 128.57.
“Six to eight months ago, getting him out in practice was tough, now, he gets out two or three times in sessions,” Maqsood said on his YouTube channel as quoted by Geo Super.
After PSL 10, Pakistan faced Bangladesh in a three-match T20I series, but Azam was not part of the squad.
The men in green won the series 3-0.
