Former Pakistan captain Rashid Latif believes the men in green are missing a fast-bowling all-rounder right now, “which is why they are relying too much on spinners”.
He noted that it is imperative Pakistan find someone who can be their go-to fast-bowling all-rounder as there are a few options available, such as Faheem Ashraf and Aamer Jamal.
“This Pakistan team seems to be missing a fast-bowling all-rounder, which is why they are relying too much on spinners,” Latif was quoted as saying by TOK Sports on X, formerly known as Twitter.
The Pakistan team have failed to impress as of late as they were knocked out in the group stage of the 2025 Champions Trophy after going winless throughout their campaign.
They then embarked on a white-ball tour of New Zealand, where they lost the T20I series 4-1 and the ODIs 3-0.
Following this, many of the national players were involved in the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL), which the Lahore Qalandars won.
Pakistan are now facing Bangladesh in a three-match T20I series, which they lead 2-0.
The 3rd T20I will be played on June 1 in Lahore.
