Pakistan selector Asad Shafiq has confirmed that wicketkeeper-batsman Haseebullah Khan will be “given another opportunity” to play international cricket.
While affirming that the 22-year-old will get recalled, Shafiq stopped short of saying when it would occur.
Haseebullah has represented Pakistan in one ODI and three T20Is, with his last match coming in November 2024.
“He will be given another opportunity,” Shafiq was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.
Haseebullah did not feature in the 2025 Champions Trophy or Pakistan’s limited overs tour of New Zealand, but did play for the Quetta Gladiators in the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL).
The Gladiators only picked the Pishin native for one game, where he scored seven runs and took two catches.
Pakistan are now taking on Bangladesh in a three-match T20I series, but Haseebullah was overlooked once again.
The men in green are 2-0 up right now and will look to complete a series whitewash in the 3rd T20I on June 1 in Lahore.
