Former Pakistan left-arm seamer Sohail Tanvir thinks big-hitting batsman Hasan Nawaz has “great potential” and “can go long way in white-ball cricket”.
Nawaz made his international debut during Pakistan’s five-match T20I series against New Zealand earlier this year and started off with two consecutive ducks.
However, in the 3rd T20I, he showed why he is one of the brightest prospects in Pakistan as he blasted 105 not out off 45 balls, which included 10 boundaries and seven sixes.
The 22-year-old finished the series with 106 runs in five games at an average of 26.50 and a strike-rate of 185.96.
Given how explosive his hundred was, Tanvir feels the Islamabad native could be a long-term asset for the men in green in both ODIs and T20Is.
“Take a bow Hasan Nawaz, he has great potential and can go long way in white-ball cricket,” he said on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Following the tour of New Zealand, Hasan put on a show in the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL) as he was the third-highest run-scorer with 399 runs in 12 matches for the Quetta Gladiators, which included a century and three fifties, at an average of 57 and a strike-rate of 162.19.
Currently, he is playing for Pakistan in their three-match T20I series against Bangladesh and has scored 95 runs in two games, which includes a top score of 51 not out, at an average of 95 and a strike-rate of 197.91.
Pakistan are 2-0 up in the series heading into the 3rd T20I on June 1 in Lahore.
