Mohammad Yousuf: “He has played on very easy wickets and scored runs there. But if you check his record, you’ll also see how many times he has failed”

Legendary Pakistan batsman Mohammad Yousuf has taken aim at opener Abdullah Shafique, saying people should be aware of how many times he has failed.
He also slammed Shafique for only being able to score runs on “very easy wickets”.
Shafique recently represented Pakistan in their three-match ODI series against New Zealand and made 70 runs at an average of 23.33.
“He has played on very easy wickets and scored runs there. But if you check his record, you’ll also see how many times he has failed,” Yousuf was quoted as saying by Geo Super.
Shafique fared a lot better in the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL) as he amassed 390 runs in 13 matches for the Lahore Qalandars, which includes three fifties, at an average of 32.50 and a strike-rate of 148.28.
The Qalandars made it to the PSL final and were crowned champions after beating the Quetta Gladiators by six wickets.
Pakistan will now take on Bangladesh in a three-match T20I series, which will be held in Lahore from May 28 to June 1.
Despite his strong showing in PSL 10, Shafique was not picked for the Bangladesh series.
