Former Pakistan cricketer Mohammad Hafeez believes legendary all-rounder Abdul Razzaq is a better version of India’s Hardik Pandya.

Panyda is one of India’s go-to all-rounders and has showcased the talent he has with the bat and ball on plenty of occasions.

However, Hafeez feels Razzaq was on a different level as he “was a better and bigger performer”.

The 45-year-old represented Pakistan in 46 Tests and scored 1,946 runs, which included three centuries and seven fifties, at an average of 28.61.

He also took 100 wickets at an average of 36.94.

Razzaq also featured in 265 ODIs and amassed 5,080 runs, which included three hundreds and 23 half-centuries, at an average of 29.70.

Bowling-wise, he claimed 269 wickets at an average of 31.83.

As for T20Is, the Lahore native struck 393 runs in 32 matches at an average of 20.68.

In addition to this, he also picked up 20 wickets at an average of 19.75.

“You take out the details of Abdul Razzaq’s performances. He was a better and bigger performer. But the system didn’t look after him and the player also didn’t respond that much. He was limited in his skills, didn’t try to outdo his own potential. Whatever I’ve seen of Razzaq, he was better than this version of Hardik,” Hafeez was quoted as saying by NDTV.

The Pakistan team have struggled to impress as of late as they were dumped out in the group stage of the 2025 Champions Trophy after going winless.

They then went to New Zealand and were crushed 4-1 in the T20I series before being battered 3-0 in the ODIs.

Following this, many of the national players were involved in the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL), which the Lahore Qalandars won.

Pakistan will now take on Bangladesh in a three-match T20I series, which will be played in Lahore from May 28 to June 1.
