Pakistan batsman Ahmed Shehzad said big things were expected from pace bowler Naseem Shah, but hinted that he isn’t living up to the hype.
Naseem is one of the leaders of Pakistan’s pace attack and recently played in the 2025 Champions Trophy, where he took two wickets in two matches at an average of 50.
He then missed Pakistan’s five-match T20I series against New Zealand as he wasn’t part of the squad.
However, he did feature in the three-match ODI series and finished with three wickets at an average of 38.
“There were a lot of expectations from Naseem Shah as well,” Shehzad told Sports Tak.
Naseem was recently in action for Islamabad United in the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL) and prior to the tournament being indefinitely postponed, he had claimed nine wickets in eight games at an average of 29 and an economy rate of 8.41.
