West Indies fast bowler Jayden Seales said he felt no pressure when bowling to Pakistan batsmen Babar Azam and Shan Masood, even though both of them are good players.
Seales went up against Azam and Masood, who is Pakistan’s Test captain, during the two-Test series in Multan, which ended as a 1-1 draw.
The 23-year-old only played in the 1st Test and took three wickets, including that of Azam in the 1st innings.
Seales noted that as one of the West Indies’ go-to speedsters, it is his job to put his skills to the test against some of the top batsmen in the world.
“No pressure going against the likes of Babar Azam and Shan Masood. In international cricket, you have to go up against good batters and it also depends on the day,” he was quoted as saying by PakPassion on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Following the Test series, Azam featured in the ODI tri-series against New Zealand and South Africa, where he made 62 runs in three matches at an average of 20.66.
He then proceeded to feature in the 2025 Champions Trophy and finished with 87 runs in two games, which included a top score of 64, at an average of 43.50.
Afterwards, Pakistan embarked on a white-ball tour of New Zealand and Azam was not included in the squad for the five-match T20I series, which the men in green lost 4-1.
However, he did play in the three-match ODI series, which Pakistan lost 3-0, and amassed 129 runs, which included two fifties, at an average of 43.
Currently, Azam is captaining the Peshawar Zalmi in the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL) and has accumulated 49 runs in four matches at an average of 12.25 and a strike-rate of 96.07.
As for Masood, he is representing the Karachi Kings and has made 18 runs in two games at an average of nine and a strike-rate of 120.
