Islamabad United head coach Mike Hesson has confirmed that spin-bowling all-rounder Imad Wasim will be the team’s “number one choice” during the upcoming edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Even though Islamabad United drafted Nawaz for PSL 10, Imad will remain the team’s go-to spinner throughout the tournament, which is scheduled to be held from April 10 to May 25.
Hesson added that both Imad and Nawaz “won’t play in the same team”, making it clear that one or the other will be selected in the playing XI.
“They won’t play in the same team, and we know Imad Wasim is our number one choice,” he told PakPassion.
The Pakistan team recently took on New Zealand and South Africa in an ODI tri-series, where they made it to the final before being beaten by the Black Caps.
They then featured in the 2025 Champions Trophy and were dumped out in the group stage after going winless.
After this, the men in green embarked on a tour of New Zealand and began by losing the T20I series 4-1.
In the three ODIs that followed, Pakistan were whitewashed 3-0.
PSL 10 will take place from April 11 to May 18.
