Former Pakistan fast bowler Sikandar Bakht wants Mohammad Rizwan gone as ODI captain following the men in green’s dismal performances as of late.
Pakistan recently played an ODI tri-series against New Zealand and South Africa, where they booked their spot in the final before losing to the Black Caps.
After this, they were involved in the 2025 Champions Trophy, but went winless throughout the tournament and crashed out in the group stage.
Bakht feels that Rizwan was a “bad choice” as captain and noted that he had the same thoughts about Babar Azam.
“Firstly, Mohammad Rizwan should resign as the captain… He is a bad choice to be the captain. I said the same about Babar Azam as well,” the 67-year-old told Geo News as quoted by Sports Tak.
Pakistan just completed a limited overs tour of New Zealand and began by getting crushed 4-1 in the T20Is.
As for the three-match ODI series, they were whitewashed 3-0.
