Former Pakistan all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez has praised legendary captain and batsman Inzamam-ul-Haq, saying he was a match-winner for the country in tough situations.
Inzamam had a superb international career, scoring 8,830 runs in 120 Tests, which included 25 centuries and 46 fifties, at an average of 49.60.
He also amassed 11,739 runs in 378 ODIs, which included 10 hundreds and 83 half-centuries, at an average of 39.52.
As for his T20I career, the 54-year-old from Multan struck 11 not out in the one match he played.
“Inzamam-ul-Haq used to win matches for Pakistan in tough situations,” Hafeez was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.
The Pakistan team recently took on New Zealand and South Africa in an ODI tri-series, where they made it to the final before losing to the Black Caps.
After that, they were involved in the 2025 Champions Trophy and crashed out in the group stage after losing to New Zealand and India.
Their final match against Bangladesh was abandoned due to rain.
Pakistan are now playing a limited overs series against New Zealand and were battered 4-1 in the T20Is.
The two teams are now facing each other in a three-match ODI series, where the Black Caps lead 1-0 after winning the 1st ODI in Napier by 73 runs.
The 2nd ODI will be held on April 2 in Hamilton.
