Legendary Pakistan left-arm seamer Wasim Akram has blasted all-rounders Khushdil Shah and Salman Ali Agha, questioning whether they “ever look like taking wickets”.
Both players were recently involved in the 2025 Champions Trophy, where Khushdil took one wicket in two games at an average of 83.
As for Salman, who is Pakistan’s T20I captain, he went wicketless in the five overs he bowled in the tournament.
The duo are now playing a five-match T20I series against New Zealand, with Khushdil having claimed one wicket in four matches at an average of 46.
Salman has failed to pick up any wickets again, but it should be noted that he has only bowled one over in the four games he has played.
Wasim admitted that he isn’t surprised by the pair’s lack of wickets as he feels they haven’t looked threatening at all.
“Khushdil Shah and Salman Agha, did they ever look like taking wickets?” he was quoted as saying by NDTV.
Pakistan are 3-1 down in their T20I series against New Zealand and will now look to secure a consolation win in the 5th T20I on March 26 in Wellington.
Following the T20I series, the two teams will play three ODIs, with the first match getting underway on March 29 in Napier.
