Pakistan left-arm fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi has revealed that he practices in the nets as if he is playing in a match.
Providing more details, he said he breaks down his “bowling spells into conditions and innings phases”. Based on this, he adjusts his line and length, and his pace.
“My net practice is like I’m playing a match. I was dividing my bowling spells into conditions and innings phases, and how I’d adjust lengths and pace,” Afridi was quoted as saying by ESPNcricinfo.
The 24-year-old recently represented Pakistan in their ODI tri-series against New Zealand and South Africa, where he picked up six wickets in three matches at an average of 33.16.
Following this, he featured in the 2025 Champions Trophy and took two wickets in two games at an average of 71.
Pakistan failed to make it out of the group stage in the tournament as they lost to New Zealand and India.
Their final match against Bangladesh was washed out, meaning they failed to register a single win throughout their entire campaign.
Pakistan’s next assignment will be a tour of New Zealand, which will consist of five T20Is and three ODIs that will be played from March 16 to April 5.
