Hasan Ali: “Saim Ayub is injured. He is the player of your team. Wasn’t I a member of the team in 2020? If another player gets injured, won’t he be a member of the team? Does he play for India? You’re giving VVIP treatment to Saim Ayub”

Pakistan fast bowler Hasan Ali expressed his anger at the fact that opening batsman Saim Ayub is getting treated like a VVIP (very, very important person), asking “does he play for India?”
The 22-year-old recently fractured his ankle during Pakistan’s two-Test series against South Africa and was subsequently sent to London for treatment.
Hasan noted that if another player gets injured, he won’t get the same kind of treatment that Ayub has gotten.
“Saim Ayub is injured. He is the player of your team. Wasn’t I a member of the team in 2020? If another player gets injured, won’t he be a member of the team? Does he play for India?” he said on the Ultra Edge podcast as quoted by NDTV.
“You’re giving VVIP treatment to Saim Ayub. If someone gets injured in the future, would you give him the same treatment? No, you won’t. So, what have you done here? May God give him health and fitness, and may he win a lot of matches for Pakistan. But every rise has a fall. If Saim Ayub gets injured again, will they treat him the same? No, they won’t.”
Ayub missed Pakistan’s ODI tri-series against New Zealand and South Africa, where the men in green made it to the final before being beaten by the Black Caps.
He also didn’t feature in the 2025 Champions Trophy, where Pakistan were knocked out in the group stage after losing to New Zealand and India.
Their final match against Bangladesh was washed out.
Pakistan’s next assignment will be a tour of New Zealand, which will consist of five T20Is and three ODIs that will be played from March 16 to April 5.
