Former Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman Kamran Akmal believes the national team should be playing against Zimbabwe and Ireland following their dismal performances as of late.

The men in green recently took on New Zealand and South Africa in an ODI tri-series on home soil and managed to make it to the final, where they ended up being beaten by the Black Caps.

They then took part in the 2025 Champions Trophy and failed to live up to the expectations as they crashed out in the group stage after losing to New Zealand and India.

To make matters worse, their final match against Bangladesh was washed out, meaning they went winless throughout the tournament.

“This Pakistan team should play with Zimbabwe and Ireland,” Akmal was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.

The men in green will now embark on a tour of New Zealand, which will comprise five T20Is and three ODIs that will be played from March 16 to April 5.
