Former wicketkeeper-batsman Kamran Akmal is furious with the Pakistan Test team, saying they are not playing to win.

He noted that the players look more interested in “doing something for themselves” rather than taking a team-first mentality.

Akmal conceded that if this doesn’t change, “only God can save our cricket”.

His concerns come at a time when the men in green haven’t been doing well at all.

Recently, they played an ODI tri-series against New Zealand and South Africa, and ended up losing to New Zealand in the final.

Pakistan were then involved in the 2025 Champions Trophy, but were eliminated in the group stage after losing to New Zealand and India.

Their final group stage game against Bangladesh was washed out.

“The Pakistan team’s approach is not about winning. It’s more about doing something for themselves and drawing matches. We need to correct this and adopt a winning approach. If we don’t understand this even now, then only God can save our cricket,” Akmal told Geo News.
