Former Pakistan pace bowler Abdur Rauf has blasted the players in the national team for their “pathetic” fitness levels.
He noted that the men in green need to work on becoming fitter as it is one of the key reasons why they are losing games.
In addition to the team’s fitness, Rauf also took aim at the coaching staff, who are led by head coach Aaqib Javed.
“The most pathetic was the fitness level of the team and coaching staff,” he said on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Pakistan recently faced New Zealand and South Africa in an ODI tri-series, where they managed to make it to the final before losing to the Black Caps.
The men in green are now taking part in the 2025 Champions Trophy and lost their first two games against New Zealand and India by 60 runs and six wickets respectively.
Pakistan find themselves on a brink of elimination heading into their next group stage match against Bangladesh on February 27 in Rawalpindi.
