New Zealand cricketer Kane Williamson has called Pakistan batsman Babar Azam “world-class” and said he is “certainly” in the Fab Four or Fab Five.
The Fab Four or Fab Five is the name given to the top four or five batsmen in the world.
Even though Azam has struggled to score runs consistently as of late, Williamson insisted the 30-year-old is right there among the best of the best.
The Lahore native recently featured in Pakistan’s ODI tri-series against New Zealand and South Africa, where the men in green made it to the final before losing to the Black Caps.
In the three games he played, Azam made 62 runs at an average of 20.66.
“The ‘Fab Four’ or ‘Fab Five’ consists of some of the best players in the world, and Babar Azam is certainly one of them. He is a world-class batter who consistently delivers for his team,” Williamson was quoted as saying by A Sports.
Azam will now take part in the 2025 Champions Trophy, which will be held from February 19 to March 9.
