No one will show you respect, Gulbadin Naib angry at Pakistan fast bowler’s antics

Gulbadin Naib said no one will show Pakistan left-arm seamer Mohammad Amir respect if he has none himself

Gulbadin Naib: “I always say it is a gentleman’s game. You should respect each other. If you don’t show respect, no one will respect you either. He knows how much respect he got by doing this act. As a cricketer, as a human being, you should respect everyone”

Afghanistan all-rounder Gulbadin Naib has warned Pakistan left-arm seamer Mohammad Amir that no one will show him respect if he has none himself.

Naib’s anger towards Amir stems from the International League T20 (ILT20), where he played for the Dubai Capitals and the Pakistan speedster represented the Desert Vipers.

When their teams clashed, Amir got the 33-year-old out lbw and imitated Naib’s celebration whenever he takes a wicket.

Naib was less than impressed with the 32-year-old’s antics and urged him to have more respect.

“I always say it is a gentleman’s game. You should respect each other. If you don’t show respect, no one will respect you either. He knows how much respect he got by doing this act. As a cricketer, as a human being, you should respect everyone,” he was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.

Amir ended the ILT20 as the joint fourth-highest wicket-taker with 14 wickets in 11 matches at an average of 23.14 and an economy rate of 8.30.

Since the Gujar Khan native retired from international cricket once again in December 2024, he was not considered for Pakistan’s recent ODI tri-series against New Zealand and South Africa.

Next up for the men in green will be the 2025 Champions Trophy, which will take place from February 19 to March 9.

Pakistan Squad for 2025 Champions Trophy: Mohammad Rizwan (captain and wicketkeeper), Fakhar Zaman, Babar Azam, Kamran Ghulam, Saud Shakeel, Tayyab Tahir, Faheem Ashraf, Khushdil Shah, Salman Ali Agha, Usman Khan, Abrar Ahmed, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Mohammad Hasnain, Haris Rauf, Naseem Shah
