Iconic pacer Shoaib Akhtar has shared his dream of becoming the “first billionaire in US dollars to come from Pakistan”.

The 49-year-old said he plans to be richer than the country of Pakistan itself, but didn’t provide any details on how he plans to acquire such wealth.

He also made it clear that he is “not kidding” and is completely serious about accomplishing this goal.

“I will be the first billionaire in US dollars to come from Pakistan. I want to become richer than Pakistan one day. I am not kidding. I am serious about it,” Akhtar, who holds the record for the quickest delivery in international cricket at 161.3 kph (100.2 mph), was quoted as saying by TOK Sports on X, formerly known as Twitter.

The Pakistan team recently toured Australia, Zimbabwe and South Africa before facing the West Indies in a two-Test series in Multan.

They then took on New Zealand and South Africa in an ODI tri-series, where they made it to the final before being beaten by the Black Caps.

Pakistan will now be involved in the 2025 Champions Trophy, which will be played from February 19 to March 9.
