Pakistan limited overs captain Mohammad Rizwan has admitted that the pace duo of Shaheen Shah Afridi and Naseem Shah “will be missed every time” they don’t play for the national team.

Afridi and Naseem are two of Pakistan’s go-to seamers and have a knack of taking wickets, especially with the new ball.

Lately, though, they haven’t been very active in Test cricket as Afridi missed Pakistan’s two-Test series against South Africa and the West Indies.

As for Naseem, he took four wickets in one Test against the Proteas, but didn’t feature in the West Indies series.

“Shaheen Afridi and Naseem Shah will be missed every time,” Rizwan was quoted as saying by journalist Arfa Feroz Zake on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Both Afridi and Naseem just finished featuring in Pakistan’s ODI tri-series against New Zealand and South Africa.

Afridi claimed six wickets in three matches at an average of 33.16, while Naseem ended up with three wickets at an average of 60.33.

Pakistan lost to New Zealand in the ODI tri-series final and will now take part in the 2025 Champions Trophy, which will be played from February 19 to March 9.
