Former speedster Abdur Rauf has called out current head coach Aaqib Javed, saying he is one of the “cowards” who are “ruining Pakistan cricket”.
In addition to Aaqib, Rauf also named former bowling coach Waqar Younis and ex-head coach Misbah-ul-Haq as those responsible for hurting the progression of cricket in the country.
He noted that all three of them are only interested in “personal gain” and made selection decisions that adhered to their own agendas.
“Waqar Younis, Misbah, Aaqib and thousands of cowards like them are ruining Pakistan cricket for personal gain. Sometimes they hide behind bogus wickets and sometimes they make the worst selection for their own purpose,” Rauf said on X, formerly known as Twitter.
The Pakistan team recently travelled to South Africa and lost the T20I series 2-0 before bouncing back to claim a 3-0 victory in the ODIs.
As for the two-Test series, they were battered 2-0.
The men in green then returned home and took on the West Indies in a two-Test series in Multan, which ended as a 1-1 draw.
Pakistan are now playing an ODI tri-series against New Zealand and South Africa.
Once the tri-series finishes, they will feature in the 2025 Champions Trophy, which will be held from February 19 to March 9.
