Pakistan opening batsman Awais Zia has confirmed that the selectors are biased towards certain players.

Awais is not the first player to make his claim as it has been talked about time and time again.

The 38-year-old had a relatively short international career, playing just five T20Is, where he scored 70 runs at an average of 14.

“Selection bias in Pakistan cricket is a reality,” he told PakPassion.

The Pakistan team recently toured South Africa and began by losing the T20I series 2-0 before bouncing back to secure a 3-0 victory in the ODIs.

As for the two-Test series, they were battered 2-0.

Following this, the men in green returned home and took on the West Indies in a two-Test series in Multan, which ended up finishing as a 1-1 draw.

They are now featuring in an ODI tri-series against New Zealand and South Africa.

Afterwards, the will take part in the 2025 Champions Trophy, which will be played from February 19 to March 9.
