Former Pakistan batsman Faisal Iqbal wanted to see spinner Sajid Khan in action for the Peshawar Zalmi in the upcoming edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Sajid went unsold in the player draft for PSL 10, even though Faisal felt he could have been a useful asset for the Zalmi.
The 31-year-old has only represented Pakistan in Test cricket to date, where he has been a force to be reckoned with, especially when playing at home.
During the recent two-Test series against the West Indies in Multan, Sajid took 15 wickets, which included a five-wicket haul, at an average of 17.
Even though all his international success has come in the Test arena, Faisal wants to see what Sajid can do in white-ball cricket, especially in a major tournament like the PSL.
“[He] should also play the PSL and Peshawar Zalmi should give him [an] opportunity to showcase his white-ball talent!” he said on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Sajid was not picked for Pakistan’s ongoing ODI tri-series against New Zealand and South Africa.
He also failed to make the cut for the 2025 Champions Trophy, which will take place from February 19 to March 9.
