Pakistan spin-bowling all-rounder Shadab Khan said he cannot wait to show how much he has improved during the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL).
After winning PSL 9 in 2024, Shadab is expected to captain Islamabad United again in PSL 10 and will no doubt be looking to use the tournament as a launching pad to revive his international career.
The 26-year-old, who worked very hard “in the off-season”, last played for his country during the 2024 T20 World Cup.
“I’ve worked hard in the off-season, and I’m eager to showcase the improvements on the field,” the Mianwali native was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.
Shadab was once Pakistan’s first-choice spinner, but fell down the pecking order due to his inability to take wickets consistently.
As a result, he was overlooked for the tours of Australia, Zimbabwe and South Africa. On top of this, he also wasn’t considered for selection for Pakistan’s two-Test series against the West Indies, which ended as a 1-1 draw.
Additionally, the talented leg-spinner wasn’t included in Pakistan’s team for the ODI tri-series against New Zealand and South Africa, and the 2025 Champions Trophy, which will be held from February 19 to March 9.
