Pakistan batsman Fakhar Zaman believes the India trio of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya will pose a big threat in the 2025 Champions Trophy.
Zaman knows that all three players are match-winners on their day and acknowledged that India will be relying on them to perform well throughout the tournament.
India and Pakistan will face each other on February 23 in Dubai, which is where all of India’s matches will take place.
“In my opinion, Hardik Pandya, Virat Kohli, and Rohit Sharma will be important players for India in the upcoming tournament,” Zaman was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.
Zaman hasn’t played international cricket since the 2024 T20 World Cup and thus missed Pakistan’s recent tours of Australia, Zimbabwe and South Africa.
He also wasn’t selected for the two-Test series against the West Indies in Multan, which ended as a 1-1 draw.
While he has been away from the national team, Zaman has featured in domestic tournaments and recently took part in the Champions T20 Cup, where he was the third-highest run-scorer with 303 runs in 10 matches for the Markhors, which included two fifties, at an average of 30.30 and a strike-rate of 132.31.
Considering how well he did, the 34-year-old from Mardan was recalled to the Pakistan team for ODI tri-series against New Zealand and South Africa, and the Champions Trophy.
