Tauseef Ahmed: “Imam had scored three centuries before his inclusion and, like others, deserved ample chances”

Former Pakistan off-spinner Tauseef Ahmed believes opening batsman Imam-ul-Haq deserves to receive “ample chances” in international cricket after regaining his form at the domestic level.
Imam was not picked for Pakistan’s recent tours of Australia, Zimbabwe and South Africa.
However, he earned a recall for the recent two-Test series against the West Indies in Multan after dominating in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, where he finished as the third-highest run-scorer with 635 runs in five matches for Multan Region, which included three centuries and a fifty, at an average of 79.37.
Despite being in excellent form coming into the Test series against the West Indies, Imam was not included in the playing XI for both matches.
Tauseef questioned why the 29-year-old was not given an opportunity, especially after having proven himself time and time again in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy.
“Imam had scored three centuries before his inclusion and, like others, deserved ample chances,” he said on Samaa Digital’s programme Zor Ka Jor.
